John Butler Design is an experienced, Sydney based Naval Architecture firm focussed on providing solutions across all aspects of the marine industry. With a strong knowledge of the Australian maritime industry, we are ideally positioned to providing quality, cost effective and innovative marine consultancy services to the commercial marine industry and the Australian Defence industry through the DMO. We work closely with vessel owners and operators, Ship Managers, Shipyards and Ship repairers, and have experience working with Government Departments and Agencies.
Based on tried and tested techniques, our broad ranging services extend from marine transport feasibility studies through to final ship design packages, construction supervision, production engineering support and liaison with Classification Societies. Our Naval Architecture and Mechanical Design consultancy services include condition assessments, structural analysis (FEA), detail 3D/2D design, sea keeping & stability analysis, shock analysis, along with preparation of specification and technical documentation.
Due Northwest of Sydney, we are located 45 minutes from Captain Cook dock at Garden Island NSW, and only 2 hours from the Newcastle ship yards. We can arrange access to HMAS KUTTABUL and HMAS WATERHEN to perform ship-checks and condition assessments
